Braime Group PLC Chain Cell Rebuild

The MAC team was appointed on behalf of Braime Group PLC to provide Employers Agent and Quantity Surveying services on a project to deliver the Chain Cell Rebuild project in Leeds.

The team working in conjunction with Contractors NU Construction, Architects 2H Architectural Limited and Structural Engineers JPG Group.

With the existing building categorised as a Grade II listed building, challenges derived from design implications and listed building consent. To overcome this issue, certain materials such as brickwork were reclaimed from the former Chain Cell building and were utilised in the construction of the Rebuild of the Chain Cell with listed building consent.

Despite the challenges, the project was delivered successfully, and subsequently achieved Practical Completion on Tuesday 18

July 2023.
