South Craven School

MAC Construction Consultants was appointed by South Craven School to oversee significant upgrades in the form of an ambitious roofing and fire safety scheme.

MAC was first commissioned to provide CIF (Condition Improvement Funding) bidding services in 2018 and following multiple successful bids, was subsequently appointed to provide design, cost management, employer’s agent, health & safety and CDM services.

Phases 1 & 2 of the fire safety and roofing replacement schemes consisted of replacing the external and internal fire doors and partitions, and replacing the existing flat roof system and associated internal works. As with any large-scale school project, MAC had to navigate the logistical difficulties of managing an active site whilst the school remained open to pupils and staff.

Despite a delayed CIF announcement and the complexities presented by Covid-19, the project was successfully delivered on time and to budget.

South Craven School underwent significant upgrades involving Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the fire safety and roofing developments. MAC has a 100% success rate in generating CIF bids for the school, with the most recent upgrades comprising the sum of £2.5m.
