Brief
Holland and Barrett has selected MAC as the sole Cost Management provider on the roll-out of its new ‘accessible wellness’ store concept across its existing sites in Chelmsford, Farnham and Islington. These projects range from £300,000 to £600,000.
Key project
MAC has provided quantity surveying services from inception to completion on the £600,000 refurbishment of Holland and Barrett’s new concept design store in Chelmsford.
Key challenges
As this was a trial store, with several new offerings being implemented, stringent market testing was required to ensure value for money was being achieved. MAC formed a vital part of the project team and challenged delivery methods throughout to ensure that these features could be effectively rolled out across its wider property portfolio.
Key successes
In four weeks, MAC completed the full back to shell strip-out of the store and installed a range of new finishes and selling fixtures. This included a new automatic click and collect offer, new customer checkouts, a customer consultation area, and several new digital innovation concepts throughout the store.
MAC successfully delivered this project to budget and managed several late design and specifications changes. We are now managing similar fitouts in Farnham and Islington.
